We’re guessing that the first half of 2020 didn’t exactly go according to your business plan at the start of the year. Whatever it was that you planned to happen, you almost certainly didn’t expect a global pandemic to come along and turn the whole business and wider world on its head.
However, even if the first half of 2020 didn’t go as expected or hoped, there is still just under half a year to get back on track. As things slowly return to some semblance of normality, there are ways and means of injecting some energy into your business. With this in mind, we have created a quick guide for generating leads in the coming six months.
Get on the phones
Phone prospecting or cold calling has earned itself a reputation as being a bit of a nuisance in recent years. But things have changed. Since lockdown started, people have to rely on their phones and appreciate the importance of phone contact.
All of this has seen a growth in people’s tolerance for cold calling. Most people appreciate that many businesses are struggling and are much more open to people striving to keep things going. That’s why getting on the phones over the next six months could actually be your best bet.
Devise a system, think about who you want to contact and why, and get calling. This is also a good idea because it means you and your staff can work from home. As long as you have a phone and internet connection, you can still carry on generating leads while staying safe and following all the safety procedures.
Add forms to the pages that get the most traffic.
Dig down into the data and find which pages generate the most traffic. This will allow you to see which parts of your site are working hardest for your business. These might include pages that have links to email marketing or social media campaigns. It might even be your live chat or blog posts.
Once you have done the hard work, you can then adapt these pages so that they lead straight into your funnel. Web behavior has changed since the pandemic, so it’s worth taking the time to respond to this.
Optimize every step of the lead generation process
Your landing pages should be optimized to ensure any interest is turned into a lead. If this is not happening, then you need to do some work to find out why not. You might need to play around with the links or pathways to ensure that every lead is guided down the correct funnel.
Make sure your call to action is in the right place and working. In fact, this applies to every page of your website.
Develop a chat service
If you don’t already have a chat service for your website, then think about developing one. This way, you can capitalize on any interest in real-time without letting any slip through your fingers.
