Executive Coaching is the art of facilitating the performance, learning and development of another. It is a partnership that supports executives in their professional and personal development. Coaching is far more personal and broader in scope than consulting and is committed to all aspects of a person's life. The Coach provides input and feedback, gives specific suggestions, makes requests and helps the client to set more effective goals, to implement new strategies, to resolve problems and to stay focused and on track. In other words, clients identify a gap between where they are and where they want to be - and the Coach helps them bridge that gap! A Coach also helps clients establish a stronger and more personal foundation for leadership.
So, why would I work with a Coach?
Most executives know their strengths and weaknesses. When strengths become weaknesses or deficiencies eventually matter, executives find themselves operating with diminishing returns. Your Coach will help you build a more effective foundation and approach
People are most often unsuccessful in their work because they encounter people with whom they 'can't get along'. Your Coach will work with you to identify challenging people and contexts and find more effective ways of thinking and behaving.
Because the goals you set are aligned with what's really important to you! Your Coach will work with you to identify your values, and define your goals with a confidential plan of action to move forward.
Boundaryless behaviour means being able to navigate as a 'global citizen' across the boundaries of hierarchy, function, geography and with customers or alliance partners. The shifting of power that occurs when the organisation becomes more boundaryless troubles many leaders. A Coach can help resolve issues of power before leaders engage in self-sabotaging behaviour.
Your blindspot keeps recurring.
Time to think through issues with someone who has 'no agenda' other than to support you in your thinking is a rare commodity. A Coach is a confidential resource and provides designated time to think.
A Coach truly listens to what is being said and what is not being said. A Coach fully listens and discerns who the person is, where they are going, where they want to go, what is really going on, what they need most and how to help.
A Coach will be radically forthright and unconditionally constructive, providing support to discover what is most important to you.
A strong foundation as a leader is a prerequisite to building something extraordinary. A Coach can guide you through the steps of building a strong leadership foundation and creating a compelling future.
A coach will be your advocate, assisting you in standing up for who you are and what you believe. A Coach will be a mentor and partner, working with you to achieve your very best.
